The Venus de Milo is a famous Greek sculpture from the end of the Hellenistic period (ca. 130-100 BC) which could represent the goddess Aphrodite (Venus in Roman mythology). Discovered in 1820 on the island of Milos (Milo being an ancient form of the name of this island), hence its name, it is currently preserved in the Louvre Museum, Paris.
